The final balance of the victims of a recent bombing in Damascus reached 44 dead and 127 wounded, according to the authorities reports in this capital.

Confirmed data indicated that 40 of the dead were Iraqi pilgrims, who came to the neighborhood of Bab Al Saguir, where historic Shiite shrines are located.

According to reports, a first suicide bomber blew up a belt of explosives and when rescuers and people in general assisted the injured, another did the same in the middle of the crowd.

In the Bab Saguir cemetery where the events occurred, there are tombs of historical figures of Shiite Muslims such as Abdullah Ibn Ali ibn Al-Hussein, Abdallah Ibn Jaafar Tayyar, Hafsa the daughter of Omar Ibn al-Khattab and Sakina the daughter of Imam Hussein, among others. The war imposed on this nation of the Levant tries at all costs to exacerbate the confessional differences with the support to extremist terrorist groups that respond to the Wahhabistic religious fanaticism promoted mainly from Saudi Arabia.
