The Delta State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil
Defence Corps (NSDC) has uncovered 2, 400 liters of fake petroleum
products in Ughelli tick forest and arrested three suspects allegedly
behind the illegal act.
Confirming the incident, the State Commandant, Mrs.
Beatrice Irabor told journalists on Saturday in Asaba that men and
officers of her command acted on a tip-off to uncover a warehouse where
the illegal products were being refined and produced in Ughelli tick
forest.
She said that the ware located around Owankwa town tick
forest Okwagbe community, Ughelli South, was discovered to be managed by
a group of persons where three of them arrested and we currently being
prosecuted.
Mrs. Beatrice Irabor disclosed that the suspects would be
charged to court upon completion of investigation and warned members of
the public to desist from crude oil theft.
It was gathered that the NSCDC operatives led by Inspector
Odega Godwin stormed the tick forest where they discovered the illegal
warehouse.
