Image result for SYRIA FLAG IMAGESecretary of State John Kerry and British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said Sunday their nations are considering sanctions against Syria and even Russia as conditions continued to deteriorate in the war-torn Syrian city of Aleppo.
"It is vital that we keep that pressure up — and there is a lot of measures we're proposing — to do with extra sanctions on the Syrian regime and their supporters," British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson told reporters in London, Reuters and other media outlets reported. "Measures to bring those responsible for war crimes to the International Criminal Court."
Russia is the primary supporter of Bashar Assad's regime in Syria.
According to Kerry, "crimes against humanity" were a daily occurrence in Syria.
"This is the time to implement a cease-fire unconditionally and then move to the negotiating table," Kerry said at a gathering of diplomats from 10 nations, the BBC reported.
Hundreds of civilians have died in the air campaign since the collapse of a cease-fire brokered between the United States and Russia. The bombing, which Russia says is aimed at ridding the city of "terrorists," has targeted hospitals and civilian neighborhoods, according to the U.S. State Department.
The U.S. and Britain want Russia and Assad's government investigated for war crimes.
